Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry

Dunedin Associates have set dates for the next Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry course.

The dates of the course is the 16th 17th 18th 19th of September 2019, all four dates must be attended.

The Door Supervisor Training Course is required to obtain your SIA Door Supervisor Licence. This allows you to work in the private security industry as a Door Supervisor or Security Officer. Door Supervisors usually work at licence premises but can work in a wide variety of roles including static guarding, manned guarding, key holding etc.

Obtaining the Level 6 Door Supervisor qualification is the first step towards getting an SIA Licence to work in the security industry. If you are looking to work in the Security industry as a Security Guard or a Door Supervisor, this is the right course for you.

Entonox® as part of their role. This includes, but is not limited to pre-hospital care providers, event first aid staff and First Responders. This is not a
licence to practice qualification and employers should ensure they have full and rigorous Clinical Governance in
place to be able to allow employees to administer medical gasses.

The Award in Education and Training (AET) is a direct replacement for the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS).

The Certify Group Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) 5 day Course – this tutor led course covers the basics of teaching in continuing and adult education, including how to plan lessons, motivate learners and use a variety of teaching methods.

It’s a first step towards official practitioner status – a full licence to teach in the lifelong learning sector. It will assist managers and supervisors who have to train all staff.

The AET has replaced the PTLLS award for new entrants to the teaching of adults – you don’t need any prior teaching experience or qualifications. It will give you the essentials skills to become a competent trainer in the work enviroment.

It also suits people working in training already who want to gain an up to date qualifications so they can become accredited trainers.

The AET Award is a mandatory minimum qualification for all those teaching in the Learning and Skills Sector and replaces the old PTLLS qualification.

There are 5 units within this course, these include:

The roles and responsibilities of teachers in the lifelong learning sector

Teaching and learning approaches in your specialist area

Demonstrating session planning and delivery skills (Micro-Teach session), Students are required to complete a Micro-Teach session as part of the course. You will need to draw up a lesson plan and demonstrate to other learners in a 15-30 minutes session.

QNUK Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (RQF)

This qualification is aimed those looking to undertake the role of an Emergency first aider in the workplace, as
outlined in the Health and Safety (First-aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations
(Northern Ireland) 1982.
Pre-requisites
This qualification is aimed at those over 16 who are able to undertake the responsibilities associated with being
a workplace emergency first aider.
Candidates between 14-16 years can undertake the qualification, however they should not be relied upon by
employers to be a sole emergency first aider.
It is recommended that candidates have a minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
Attendees will be required to demonstrate first aid procedures as they would in a real work environment. This
includes providing CPR to a casualty who is on the floor, therefore be physically capable of doing so.
There are no other pre-requisites for this qualification.
